    Football News: Leicestershire Base Michael Eshiett Dreams Flying Eagles Call up
  • 17 - year - old Michael Eshiett, a Nigerian- American currently making waves as a youth player in Brooke House Football Academy , Market Harborough , Leicestershire , United Kingdom, says he wants to wear the green- white - green jersey of Nigeria .
    While in Nigeria , the young Eshiett played for Regents Secondary School, scoring several goals for the institution in secondary schools competitions .“ I am tall , physically strong and determined and have great presence in the teams I play for , ” the 6 ft tall striker / winger said in a message to The Guardian during the week .
    Born on June 26 , 2000 in California, USA , Eshiett had his General Certificate Examination (GCE ) success in Science, English , Mathematics , Information Technology , Business and Physical Education , and is currently completing a University Foundation Course at Brooke House College in the United Kingdom. He will graduate in June this year .
    Eshiett said he was looking forward to featuring in the Nigerian national teams , beginning with the U- 20 , the Flying Eagles .“Since I moved to Brooke House College in the United Kingdom, I have scored over 50 goals in competitive soccer in four years ,” he said. “I am excellent in the air , in the defence and attack, which means I am a danger at set pieces in the attacking third .”
    Apart from his ability to score goals , Eshiett says he loves creating chances for his teammates to score . “I have pace and strength which I use to great affect bringing my teammates into play as well as having the confidence to use these attributes for my own benefit. I am dangerous going forward , and I have pace and trickery to get past defenders creating chances to score goals.
    “I have a great left foot and am able to play both short and long passes effectively. I can show a talent with the ball at my feet in tight situations and can turn defenders inside out with my dribbling skills . I am a team player , and I am respected by my teammates . They always miss me whenever I am not on the pitch .”
